OPIS

OPIS

Suggestive and mysterious images recorded with a domestic camera in the late 1980s. Two voices, one female and the other male, argue about their meaning and do not seem to agree. Emma reviews her family history to try to piece together the lives that are still a mystery to her. In this review she will confront the ghosts of her past and make the viewer a voyeur accomplice in her intimacy. But... who is that voice that confronts her and why will it end up being so important in this story?

Emma Tusell
Emma Tusell (*1980) has been working as a film editor for fifteen years. As a director, she made her debut with the feature film “La Habitación de Elías”, in which she approaches the figure of her father in a film mixing documentary and fiction. She has also directed the documentary series “Madridcrea” and more than fifteen short films. She has edited numerous documentary films including “Cuando Hollywood Estaba en La Gran Vía” (Javier Rioyo), “Hobby” (Ciro Altabás) and “El Hombre y la Música” (Laura Sipán). She has also edited a number of feature films including “Magical Girl” (Carlos Vermut), the winner of the Golden Shell and the Silver Shell at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, “Tiempo Después” by José Luis Cuerda, as well as “La Caja Vacía” by Claudia Sainte Luce. Emma Tusell studied directing at the Institute of Cinema in Madrid. In 2003, she graduated from Madrid’s ECAM film school, specializing in editing, and later on completed a workshop on documentary in the EICTV (Cuba). There she discovered the creative documentary in which she would go on to specialise, taking part in seminars given by the most prestigious Spanish directors of that genre: Victor Erice, Jose Luis Guerín and Elías León Siminiani.
